MapBiomas Award
4TH EDITION MAPBIOMAS AWARD
The 4th Edition of the MapBiomas Award, in partnership with Instituto Ciência Hoje, aims to stimulate and expand applications and works that use data from any MapBiomas initiative, module or product, including initiatives from other countries (e.g. MapBiomas Amazonia, Chaco, Atlantic Forest, Pampa, and Indonesia), and different products, such as MapBiomas Alert, MapBiomas Arida and Geo-covid (https://mapbiomas.org/initiatives).
In this edition, 6 (six) works that explore the use and applications of data from any MapBiomas initiative will be awarded. Are they:

General Category: Jobs regardless of age and education level;
-
Young Category: Works whose author is under 30 years old and has not completed graduation throughout 2021;
-
Featured Category Applications in Public Policy: Works regardless of age and education level;
-
New Featured Category Business Applications: Jobs regardless of age and education level.
Winners in each category will be awarded as follows:

1st place in General Category - value of R$ 15,000.00 (fifteen thousand reais);

2nd place in General Category - value of R$ 10,000 (ten thousand reais);
-
1st place in the Youth Category - value of R$ 10,000 (ten thousand reais);
-
2nd place in the Youth Category - value of R$5,000 (five thousand reais);
-
Highlight Applications in Public Policies - value of R$ 10,000 (ten thousand reais);
-
Highlight Applications in Business - amount of R$ 10,000 (ten thousand reais).
All winners will receive an annual subscription to Ciência Hoje Digital Magazine, in addition to a scholarship to carry out a course on Geoprocessing of satellite images using Google Earth Engine promoted by Solved, and the production of a short video (up to 2 minutes) about the winning work.
ATTENTION! Applications will take place from November 10, 2021 to March 20, 2022.
